Go is a two player game where black stones compete with white stones. You take turns to place your stones on the empty intersections of a 19×19 go board.
You try to surround a group of stones played by your opponent. When they are completely surrounded they have been captured and you may remove them.
The aim of the game is to control a larger territory than your opponent by placing your own stones so they cannot be captured. But remember once you have placed a stone it cannot moved; this is game of thinking before you act.
The game ends and the score is counted when both players pass on a turn, showing that neither side can increase their territory or reduce their opponent's. | |
