- New Murder Mystery Games
As a traditional games shop we don’t get
a new crop of games very often, but 2006 has been a particularly
good year. There are four new board games on the site,
Canal Mania.
A game set in the great British Canal building era.
Players compete to build canals, simple on flat ground, but
more difficult terrain will require aqueducts, tunnels and
lock systems.
We say: We always like to see high quality games from British
inventors a game faithful to geography and the era that inspired
it.
Blue Moon City
A science fiction themed game, players work to rebuild the
Blue Moon City. Different choices throughout the game mean
that you can play over and over again and try out different
strategies to win.
We say: It's been released to eager anticipation and great
reviews. A good, get them away from that computer game.
Thurn and Taxis
This year's winner of the Spiel des Jahres
Players compete to build a postal service in old Germany.
Create routes and stagecoaches and establish new offices.
We say: Great for families and people who don't play board
games too often. Works well with two, three or four players.
Tempus
A civilisation building game that starts with fire and ends
up with a modern society. Choose between waging war or gathering
technology. There are no dice in this game, your decision
making is what counts.
We say: This is much shorter then some civilisation building
games and takes about two hours to play. A good Sunday afternoon
game with friends or family.
We’ve added new titles to our murder mystery
party games section these include…
Death
by Chocolate, Paris, 1900.
Sherlock
Holmes, The Silver Bullet, Hampshire 1905
Murder
in Café Resistance, France, WWII
Murder
on the Dance floor, backstage at the dancefactor reality
show.
Murder
in Las Vegas, which of the seedy Vegas characters killed
off the casino owner?
As ever, if you have any questions about anything at all then
