Briiv: The Air Purifier That Cleans Your Home — And the Planet
We expect our homes to be safe havens—spaces that nourish. Yet many air purifiers meant to protect us only add to environmental harm with plastic, non-recyclable filters, and energy-hungry fans. Briiv offers a better way: clean air with conscience.
Founded by experienced designers in 2019, Briiv was born from a simple question: why do air purifiers harm the planet while promising to protect us? The answer led to a radically different design, using 90% natural or renewable materials, including Scandinavian moss, coconut fibre, and a bespoke nano-carbon matrix—bio-based and compostable.
The result is a strikingly beautiful object: part terrarium, part appliance—awarded the Red Dot Design Award 2021 for its elegant form and purposeful materials.
Briiv’s filtration process is thoughtful by design:
Reindeer moss captures large particles like dust and pet dander.
Coconut fibre filters mid-size particles such as mould and bacteria.
The nano-matrix—activated carbon bonded with silk or hemp—traps PM0.3 dust, VOCs, and odours.
Independent reviews confirm its effectiveness. One Architectural Digest test found it dropped CO₂ levels, eliminated odours, and delivered air quality improvements that even outpaced dozens of conventional plants. Another lab test showed Briiv could purify a 36 m² room in just one hour—cleansing as much air as 3,000 houseplants.
Made in Britain and assembled in Leeds, Briiv isn’t just sustainable—it’s circular. Even the packaging is plastic-free and recyclable, and the brand supports repairs and replacement parts rather than pushing full replacements.
The impact goes beyond homes. Briiv is a B Corp, committed to transparency and regeneration. Every choice—from materials to messaging—reflects a philosophy: clean air should not cost the earth.
If you’re rethinking the everyday, choose an air purifier that aligns with your values, not contradicts them. Briiv invites you to breathe easier—in body and conscience.
